Motherhood is tough, and many mothers are lucky to have help from loved ones throughout their journey. When you need a little extra support from a trained professional, our postpartum and birth doulas are here for you.
A doula’s main job is to provide emotional support and education for a mother before, during, and/or after childbirth. Doulas are trained and certified by organizations like the International Childbirth Education Association (ICEA) or the National Association of Doulas (DONA). Doulas are well-educated in newborn care, but they tend to focus on guiding and advising parents during this new chapter in their lives.
The postpartum period after giving birth can be a whirlwind of stress and conflicting emotions for a family. Our postpartum doulas are there to ease new parents into their new lifestyle by providing emotional support as well as practical advice on newborn care. A postpartum doula can ease parents’ worries, bolster their self-confidence, and help them understand the needs of their little one.
Maternal Instincts offers a variety of care services to support new parents, whether they need help with sleep training, newborn care, or family support. We work with doulas to provide postpartum care for mothers with newborns. We also work with birth doulas so if you are interested in a full package from having a birth doula to postpartum care we are happy to provide that as well. If you have questions about our team of qualified postpartum doulas, fill out our form below or give us a call. We’re here for you and always happy to help!
